Your "Measure twice, cut once" picture frame got a real good LOL out of me. That would be fun to make as a reminder in my little 'apartment kitchen shop'.

Like the magnet on the tape idea, also good for picking up a drop wire in a wall cavity👍

Great tips Shane! Keep it up! One more little tip for Measuring. Always use the same tape measure for the same project! Even though tape measures are supposed to be the same, they can be off a mm or so. So if you do all of the measurements with the same tape measure, you will always know that they will be consistent.

I love the magnet on the end of the tape measure trick. I’ll use that instead of my current technique which is jumping in the car and going to bunnings and buying a new one. And also buying a ten pack of micro fibre towels, an extension lead and a lint roller. Or whatever else is on special near the checkout counter.

Great tips. Glad to see a mention for Colin Knecht there, I've been following him for a long time. Apparently there are four P's of woodworking: Practice, Precision, Patience and Practice. Make sawdust while the sun shines. Also make sawdust when it doesn't shine!

Drilling the square at 10mm - genius tip!

I'm off to get my drill while you get your cup of tea.

I own a combination square. So that's what it's called.... and that's how to use it? All this time I just thought it was one of those tools to keep in the tool drawer to make me look like I know what I'm doing!! Thanks Shane! The more information you put in your videos, the more I'm starting to measure up!! Finally!

@ 0:17 I like the auto mechanic way of saying that "sometimes the problem is the nut behind the wheel". Nice video! I checked my combination square and I found the little pointy scribe thing!

I love how my combination square already has a hole on it and my measuring tape has a magnet on the tip as well :D
