What's also important is that Nintendo can look at the costs that go into a PS5 pro, and see if they can replicate it for their game at an affordable price. Nintendo has always been about affordable hardware out of the big three, and that's always helped them. This can work for their favor by watching what's being done.

I love the Switch, and that's the main reason why I feel for so many it will be hard to top it off. I just hope that by wanting to create something "exciting and new, " the next Nintendo console doesn't turn into what happened to the Wii U. Like whenever we think they will go in a certain way, they have gone in the total opposite direction. I also think that after Zelda and Pikmin 4 they might announce that Switch 2 is in development and will be releasing in 2024. There's nothing more exciting coming after those two titles, and NSO can just hold them for so long. So, they're running out of time imo.

What makes you think the new switch will be 4k when the 4080 can barely get good frame rates natively at that resolution? The current switch cant even hit 720p most of the time

Soon, the next good third parties games won’t be compatible with PS4 Pro, so the Switch 2 must be more powerful!! I like Nintendo first parties games, but I would like to keep playing the next Doom, Call of Duty, RE4, Street Fighter V and many others on my Switch 2!!!!

In terms of real world performance, I expect the "Switch 2" to be about halfway between the PS4 and PS5, just like the Switch is about halfway between the PS3 and PS4.

I would be happy with a switch that in handheld, hit between 900p and 1080p. I think you don't really need higher than 1080p for handheld gaming at a 7 inch or less screen.
And then with usb c, the dock could have some sort of Graphics unit in it to help push the resolution to close to 4k.
Honestly, just a x2 resolution bump from 1080p on Nintendo games would look fantastic.

Switch is a handheld it does not compete with ps/xbox


Steam deck is their only competition. Soon they might give up on hardware and just release on mobiles/deck and use accessories for extra profits like sony is planning to do!

Personally I want Nintendo to change track and make the most powerful system for some time at a high sticker price. Instead of making a slightly better than the last half hearted effort. This could be justified if the switch 2 could be used as a multitasking home entertainment system with modular upgrades.

95% of the games on PS5 don’t use over 70% of the console’s power, I don’t get the need for a Pro model, literally so much potential remaining.
