I think it was a mistake for them to make the disk drive optional. Many enthusiasts are also collectors who value physical media. Releasing a Pro without the drive sends the wrong signal.

Shout out to the large amount of people complaining about $700 for the Pro, but yet paid $900 to $1200 for the basic PS5 digital from scalpers, on release date ✌🏽

The standard PS5 with a disc drive launched at $499 four years ago. Those units were immediately profitable, they didn't sell the consoles at a loss like they had in every previous generation. That architecture's been updated what.. three or four times now. The standard PS5 with a disc should be $399 all the time. PS5 pro for $700 with no drive? NOPE!!! INCLUDE A DRIVE 2 TERABYTES OF STORAGE AND A DUAL SENSE EDGE PRO CONTROLLER. THAT'S WORTH $700!

At launch, PS5 was 700 dollars in my country doing a conversion. I bought it on a sale later on at about 550 with tax. I don't even want to know how much the PRO will cost. 😅

What annoys me is the UK price
£699 converted into USD is $913
And that’s without a disc drive or the vertical stand
They should have lowered the UK price so like £549
