I’m currently the reading The Fellowship for the first time and realised this line is in the book but is used much earlier on when Frodo and Gandalf are in the Shire and find out it is the One Ring. I’m kind of glad they moved it towards the end of the film instead.

I went and saw this movie at the theater when it came out. At the time I was going through a horrible divorce and child custody case. And my grandfather had passed away from cancer a few months before... I'm 6'1" and I dropped down to less than 140 lbs and my 28W jeans barely stayed on.

It was a dark time.

But this scene inspired me to persevere and gut it out.

Things get better. Don't give up.
