If you guys remember, the bots sent a message out to deep space before we took them out. I expected them to come back quick because of that

I’d love to see a defense mission where we drop in as reinforcements for regular SEAF soldiers pinned down at an outpost, and we have to hold off the enemies until the timer runs out, and when it does you see a bunch of friendly destroyers come out of hyperspace and destroy the remaining enemies. But I’m just daydreaming don’t mind me.

The bots sent a SOS call long before we terminated them, so, it makes sense that their fleet arrived, it's not disappointing to me, but I do agree they should have released the ATAT and the gunships now, and maybe release the assault on thursday

I kind of get why people might not like the quick return for story reasons, but from a gameplay perspective I think this is 100% the right call.

The fact that the two enemy factions play so differently is part of what made me love the game, but if you just straight up remove half the enemy types for a week or more that wouldn't feel great. I think temporarily removing one of the factions could work if they used it as an opportunity to introduce a thrid faction or something (so you still had options of who to fight), but if it's just "you're only allowed to run bug missions for the next week or two" that has the potential to get boring pretty quick.

I get what you're saying, but they can't delete half of their content for a few weeks. Some players don't like fighting bugs.

It's just crazy how much content these guys are releasing since the original release. This is hands down GOTY already.

I don’t think it’s disappointing or a misfire at all tbh, it was theorized since the game dropped that the Automaton forces we had on the map was just a scouting party for the main fleet, it checks out that they were only gone for about a day or 2, we finally wiped out the scout fleet so their main command had to take some time to gather all of their bots, them taking 5 planets in only a couple hours makes sense as well, as far as Super Earth knew we completely wiped out the threat and were still mid celebration so I feel like it tracks that an enemy who we thought was eradicated managed to ambush planets that weren’t even apart of the original scout party’s missions

the main dev tweeted somthing saying weve been playing on easy and its only going to get harder. This makes complete sense

I don’t mind that the Automatons came back this quickly. The bugs are super easy at this point, and in the story they explained that the Automatons were fought at first were just the vanguard and this is the main force, plus we can actually fight to get their Homeworld now and who knows what’s gonna happen then. We’ll probably get new strats and enemies in the coming weeks with the new Warbond, so I’m not too upset, we knew they were coming back anyway. Great video tho.

I hope you guys read the major order. We beat just a small group of Automatons

Na it makes sense lore wise. As a few other people have pointed out the bots sent out a distress signal pre wipe out AND we just wiped out a SCOUT force. Its kinda common sense that an advanced techno mechanical force wouldn’t be too far behind their scout contingent 🤷🏻‍♂️

It actually makes sense, if anybody remembers during swift disassembly, the bots kept saying “Reclamation, reclamation, ” I think what they said was to the main fleet to reclaim cyberstan as Super Earth was letting their guards down after their victory. It just how the state of war is atm and also we kinda curb stomped super easily

I think they had to return the automatons, doesnt matter if it feels better if it they are gone for a week or two, you are thinking from a story point of view, not gameplay, the amount of people who would get tired of playing only bugs. I know some of my friends who wont even play bugs.

imo i feel like if they left us with only the bugs theyd be gone by the end of the week

Keep in mind the galactic map is just that, a map of our galaxy. It’s possible to be surrounded on all sides by automatons and us not even know it

Im surprised by the dissapointment, especially after admitting that you yourselves were almost immediately tired of having only bugs and only 2 awful planets to choose from. I mean if you think about it, if you were commanding an army and threw your vanguard in, you wouldnt wait a week and let the enemy recoup and get their morale up by really having time to "appreciate their victory" before sending in the next wave/main force. Idk. As much as you say its an odd choice/misfire by AH, I think the dissapointment and that opinion itself is the odd take.

All that being said though, enjoyed this and past vids, just wanted to chime in with my 2 cents. Keep up the good work!

I gotta say this may be the most well-done live service game I’ve played. They update the game constantly with patches, major orders, and daily orders. The fronts moves. We can wipe out factions then have them return. It makes me wanna play and check out what’s happening every day.

Yeah I'm not feeling the disappointment. The narrative strongly suggested it wasn't even close to being over. Their defeat was more like defeating the Italians in WW2 with still plenty of liberating to be done. From a gameplay perspective, it wasn't very interesting fighting bugs on a few planets, so I'm glad the Automatons are back in full force.

The way they came back reminded me of Stellaris’s End Game Crisis. Where you have to first engage a vanguard legion until the actual main invasion fleet arrives. Like a “haha got um!”
