Helldivers 2 - 15 Things We Wish We Knew Before Playing

Helldivers 2 is a challenging and really ludicrous co-op game. It has some surprising depth and this video is here to cover some things you might have missed and arm you with a few creative tips and tricks. Let’s get to it.

If a hunter (the jumpy bug that lashes you with its tongue and slows you) gets in your face and you need to reload, just melee it real quick. It stuns them right back and gives you some breathing room.

Level 20+ and play with a group. These and so many other tips are great but I think the single best tip I heard that helped me the most was don’t be afraid to die and don’t be afraid to fail. You’ll naturally get better over time and this tip helps you brace for the increased difficulty jumps.

Use R1 to use strategem instead of L1. You can run while using the claw method to input command then L1. And use L1 as your command wheel and point to objectives. This was a game changer.

Don't sleep on the Dive Action because you can aim Max Payne style while diving. And if you land while still aiming down sights, you stay aiming and are still able to target enemies effectively 👍🏾

Good thing to know about reloading the recoiless rifle solo: The reloading is done in stages, so (badly put, and process may be wrong): 1) unlocking the rifle 2)ejecting the spent case 3) loading ammo 4)locking the rifle. If you get interrupted after finishing some stages, you won't have to start from the beginning of the reload. you'll just need to finish the rest of the stages. Not sure if this applies to any other support weapon.

The Finals and Helldivers 2 are the best things we've received in a long time imo. It gives me hope for the future of video games. Both should hopefully influence future games

If you watch ships that get shot down - they fall all the way down to the surface and explode. Incredible attention to detail!

A good technique is to drop your samples near extraction, then go finish whatever's left over in the map. That way if you die, you're important stuff is in a central place so anybody can extract with the samples. Also helps to drop them somewhere safe before you rush into an enemy compound, so you don't drop them somewhere difficult to get to if you die

for eagle stratagems, the closer you are to the edge of the map the more at an angle it will fall

Best game so far. Been playing it everyday. I usually don’t play a game everyday but this one gets me excited to play everyday till I unlock all upgrades and weapons. Best sound, best graphics, almost best mechanics, cool lore, meh launch coz of some bugs and match making problems, and I wish it’s not an online game all the time coz ya know, for preservation in the future. We all know that online only games could disappear specially if it gets old and they have to shut down the server. Arrowhead, please make an offline option if you are reading this.

Supply pack addendum: when you resupply teammates with the pack on, you reload their weapons in the process.

When there is a supply drop, let the guy with the supply pack get the ammo first. It replenishes their ammo AND the supply pack ammo. Essentially 2 for 1!

While wearing a supply pack you can supply yourself by pressing 5. Unsure of PS button equivalent.

@5:24 The tip is great, but laser weapons need a buff. We just watched you pull out the laser "cannon" and focus a single target with no effect. The laser weapons are really cool but they are terrible right now.

They should add a Droid that you can request via stratagems in order to use a rocket launcher with his help because rarely anyone helps me and the reload is super slow

#16. Say "For Super Earth" at the start of the match, at the end of a match, and when you or another Super Citizen dies😀

The illegal broadcast towers can be completed by simply blowing it up with an orbital, saving 3-5mins
