Treason jokes aside, the other NPC has a line like:

“When I was a kid, the local Democracy officer would pay all of us kids to tell him what the adults were doing. What they were saying and where they were going, and things like that. Glad to know I was serving Democracy.”

Total hint at some sort of secret police on Super Earth. Kind of interesting, and I wonder if they’ll explore that. Especially since there is a rebel faction.
