as a Washingtonian myself
I honestly think that we would join Texas in a civil war,
or at least, Washington would split in half along the cascade mountains.
Oregon would be a similar story, with the rural/urban divide being really bad there as well.
alternatively, the entirety of the Cascadia region would be 3rd party, possibly allying with Texas.

You should've done the state split thing in New York. Downstate and Upstate are so different that they would definitely fight against each other (Specifically upstate as the population is disgruntled as the conservative majority has no power in federal elections as the downstaters always vote progressive.) Maybe California too but that would be more East vs. West.

Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona have pretty close ties to Texas it would make sense for them to join the red side. As well as the western part of Pennsylvania.
