I was a serious Civil War reenactor for 18 years and this skit is really spot-on when it comes to being authentic. The clothing on both Yank and Reb is correct, the stacked rifles correct, the entire scene is perfect. It caught me totally off-guard that it was even SNL at first. I wish more of these historically accurate spoofs on history would be done. It's a great way of "hooking" kids into real history- better than any novel.
