Hori GameBoy Player Controller, Is It Worth it? - Krust Whaler

Today I’m taking a look at the highly sought-after (and highly expensive) Hori Gameboy Player controller. Is it worth the price, or just another overpriced gaming oddity?

The Wavebird brand new sealed still costed me about 350ish bucks on ebay, it was worth it...
But the last still sealed Hori Gameboy Player Gamecube controller on Black color is about 480ish bucks... Honestly, I'd rather just use the GBA Link cable at that point. Buying a used one, these tend to have visible wear and damage but they are definitely less expensive, all of them listed around the 100bucks on the average. A bit understandable that it did not sell much back then enough to be popular. Pelican had its own too and was practically identical to Hori/Skool version but the D-pad a solid outer piece that would make diagonal inputs more complicated than it should and its almost 200bucks. The Hori version has the inside motherboard and its insides done properly while the Skool one has a more cheap assembly to them. If the D-pad feel too harsh to work with, swaping the inside buttpn silicone membrane would slightly fix that. The Hori one is definitely the better practically option in terms of functionality and ergonomic on the long-run except for its price on today's market price anywhere

I recently bought the black in like new condition cib for 160. I found a loose one for 140. Letters are starting to fade tho.
