What's up everyone I came across a great alternative to the super expensive Hori GamePad for the Nintendo GameCube GameBoy Player.

Lets take a look and review how the GameCube Game Boy Player handles these games and the build quality for $20.00.

Picked mine up over at Digital Press, in Springfield, NJ.

UPDATE: No issues a month later with regular playing time. And I forgot to mention the controllers cable length is 10ft.

This is the kind of review that I'm after. Succinct and to the point. 10/10, subbed.

Looks like I'm making a trip to Digital Press soon ;) always wanted a Hori pad but for the cost I've been waiting for a cheaper solution and I think I finally found exactly what I've been looking for

That would be so cool if 8bitdo would make a receiver that you could plug in your gamecube. We could use our sn30 to play on the gameboy player.

Ive got a Hori pad (This is pretty much identical bar maybe a a micron smaller) but might get this as a spare/one ill use as to not destroy hell at that price i may even give it a custom paintjob like my gamecube 20 bucks is nothing glad people have an alternative.

I had no idea this existed, thanks to you they just got a new customer. There was no way I was going to pay those astronomical prices for a hori pad.

I have a hori pad. I might pick one up and see how it is. If it feels and plays the same, I'll sell the hori pad.. and buy some games..

I've boughten one of their wavebird replicas. It was great except for the analog stick. But this has no stick, so I should be fine

If you want to reduce input lag use Gameboy interface instead of the original Gameboy player disc

The Wave Bird isn’t the only reason you’re experiencing so much latency. The Game Boy Player itself introduces a lot of latency. You should try Game Boy Interface, a home-brew alternative. It has to be loaded onto a memory card as a hacked save file via a modded Wii, but it’s very worth it IMO.

I ended up pitching the idea to 8BitDo to make a Bluetooth receiver for the GameCube, you never know! Curios what game store you went to that had this, I try to support local when able and not order online.

the controller looks very good. never knew a replacement. honestly i love a good old fashion wired remote, as it has no " lag " or " delay " on input from buttons. but thats just me.

Great video! I have a barely used Black Hori, I’ll let you know how it compares in terms of feel 👍

I can't believe an authentic one is crazy like CRAZY expensive....

I just got one today and I think they could've done a little better on the D pad. It's still a huge step up from the Gamecube controller but I don't think it's on par with the SNES. The Z button also feels squishy but that's not important on Gameboy games. And lastly I think the insulation on the cord is a little stiff and plastic feeling. It's not as bad as the cheap extensions I have but the cord does feel on the cheaper side.

Does the controller stop working after weeks? I’m interested in getting one but I’m scared that it might break real quick. How well is the quality? Does it feel like the original?
