Hori GameCube Controller Review (for Game Boy Player)

In this video, I review the Hori GameCube Controller, which was created with the Game Boy Player add-on in mind.

Great review, thanks for posting this! For a long time, I've wanted to get one of these eventually, but I had never looked at prices. Finally decided it was time to buy one yesterday, just to find them selling anywhere from $120-180 on Ebay. I was thinking like $30, so that was an instant "nope" haha. Anyway, I decided to see if anyone had reviewed it on Youtube, to see if maybe I wasn't missing out on anything special. After watching this, I'm ok with not having one. The main reason I wanted it was for the better d-pad placement, using the analog stick on a regular GC controller is so awkward, and the d-pad is basically unusable due to it's position. But, I never really thought about the ABXY button placement, which I'm really not a fan of for non-GC games. Thankfully, you mentioned the Raphnet adapters, which I had never hard of before! So, I'm just going to pick up an SNES to GC adapter, as that's one of my favorite controllers of all time. Just wanted to let you know your video helped me a lot!

Good to hear a critical view about this expensive controller. I wanted to find one for a while, but I instead ordered a raphnet SNES to Gamecube adapter and it’s great. With GBI I can remap the buttons and use B for A and Y for B, and that’s perfect for me.

I got this controller not only for the GameBoy Player but also because this controller works perfectly for all of the Resident Evil games released on GameCube. It even works with RE4, although it's much better to just use the regular GameCube controller.

Does anyone know where any of these can be found? I like running older games competitively, and am very interested in purchasing these, however I'm not wiling to drop around $180 on one of these things, especially given that they're used and I've no idea the condition it would be in.

There's a seller from the UK selling this controller on ebay for about 115£. Obviously i'm not gonna pay that much at once for it, but apparently I can choose to pay 9£ per month for 12 months if I want to. I don't know, is that a good deal?
