Hi David, I have seen some talk recently about H.265 instead of H.264 specifically software to convert movies etc to the new codec to reduce file size. I was wondering where that sits in relation to the changes you made here using Handbrake -- I am the prime example of the old saying "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" by the way i.e. have limited understanding of all this - This might be a good topic for another video from you perhaps? Reason for my query, I have a library of over 300 movies on my iMac so saving some hard drive space has appeal. Greatly appreciate an initial thought from you.

Hi David, need your help please
I’ve just purchased a MacBook Pro 2017, obviously it doesn’t have a disc player! And I wish to load onto the Mac from my External DVD player/writer, my Software of Pinnacle 18 & 19 ultimate onto the Mac and not sure how to do it. I’ve had to buy an adapter to be able to use USB connections to load the programme on! And it don’t appear to give me a clue! But the micro slot sees my micro footage from my drone no problem at all, any ideas please as I’m very new to the MacBook and ain’t gotta a clue! Please help.

Some free software is so good it stands out from the crowd and then some. Handbrake is one such programme; VLC Media Player is another.

Great video, however when I tried it using your settings my 7.52gb video file was only compressed to 5.8gb. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for this nice video.Actually I'm surprised that the video I tried to compress using Handbrake was initially 101 MB and after compression it became 214MB....so do you kindly have any explanation for this?

Hmmm you have to pay for Mac users now 11/20/18. The trial version will only convert the 1/3 of the original file. Sucks
