6. In the VLC Convert window change two items.
• Profile: Select your preferred output file format such as MP4
• Destination: Select Browse and find the location where you want to save the converted video file.
7. Select Start
8. VLC Media Player will now compress the selected video file and save it in the desired location.

NOTE: For those having issues regarding the video without audio when selecting *Video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4)* profile, beside the dropdown, there's gonna be a wrench button. Click it. Then on the 'Audio Codec' tab, tick the checkbox for 'Keep original audio track'. And that should solve the problem. It did for me at least.

Yes this still works and you need to go to audio codec tab and select keep original audio track. Also in vlc you can even select video tracts if u left the mic on but probably just re-do it and have your mic tuned off.

Works great even on huge files (I used 13GB and ended up being 1, 3GB) and it doesn't take as long as the file is (looks like it, but the seconds are much shorter than real seconds) but then it will look like the file is wrong for couple of minutes, but then everything loads and it will be playable.

I tried so many websites but there were either file size limits (mine was about 6GB btw) or i would need to pay. Those who struggled with NO AUDIO after conversion:
The only thing i had to change was that i had to customise the conversion setting by going to the audio codec in the customisation and click 'MPEG 4 audio (aac)'. Hope this helped! and THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN

Great video but...my video of 165mb converts to 27mb using "Video for YouTube HD". If I use "Video for YouTube SD" the video is smaller but blurry. Do you have a recommendation for me to try another one of the VLC "profile" choices for the file conversion to get it to 25mb (for sending in FB) without the video being blurry after conversion?
