Linkedin Career Tips: How to build connections FAST on linkedin for your job search. So my process will take some set aside time in a day, but it’s pretty brainless so feel free to put on your favorite movie, grab your laptop, and sit on the couch while you do this.

First, if you haven’t already, add an email address on the contacts page so LInkedIn can invite everyone from your contacts. Now, it will pull up the list first and it automatically checks every name, so you might want to go through the list first and uncheck those people you don’t really know.

Write a list of every place you’ve gone to school from high school on, every job you’ve had, and every place of worship you attended/ organization you volunteered at.

For each of those places write a list of everyone you can remember
Now you will search each of their names in LinkedIn.
Additionally, when you find someone you know, do a quick search in their contacts based on your commonality.

Remember, in the beginning on LinkedIn we are just trying to lay a strong foundation of “first” connections to grow our reach to more and more second connections who can one day become firsts.

My favourite strategy is looking up hashtags in my field, finding the posts that are generating a lot of conversation and engaging with people who are leaving the comments. They will get a notification when I reply to them - and we typically connect shortly after 😉

I think if a person looking for LinkedIn hacks or whatever you can it, they won't be interested in the funny part in a video. It becomes irrelevant and irritating sometime.
