Spoilers for Wicked

Watching this after seeing Wicked, I just imagine Fiyero hanging on that pole, terrified, thinking that everyone is going after Elphaba, and he cannot do anything. Out of nowhere, comes a little farm girl from Kansas. He sees her and tries to get her attention. She helps him down. He is thankful to be free from the pole but is still getting used to walking with straw for legs. He realizes that he cannot get to Elphaba alone. The girl tells him that she is off to see the Wizard. So he begs to go with her, his reasoning is...what else...a brain, he's tricked people into believing he's brainless before, why not now. After their journey they stumble upon a man made of Tin whose been rusted solid. This man looks familiar to him but he cannot quite place the face. After talking to this Tin Man, Fiyero realizes this man is heartless, and is saying horrible things about the Wicked Witch but praising Glinda the Good. He realizes this is Boq, the munchkin from Shiz. He wants to help him move on and get past this hatred he has, so they bring him along. On the way they stumble across a Lion who is absolutely terrified. It doesn't take long for Fiyero to realize this is the same lion cub who he and Elphaba saved back at Shiz. He sees how cowardly he has become because of what they did to him, so he wants to make amends and help get this Lion the courage he needs. They head to emerald city and eventually make it to the Wizard. They are terrified, as everyone is, but when the Wizard asks for the broom of the Wicked Witch, he is overjoyed, he gets the chance to see her again. They go to the forbidden forest and start to discuss how they are going to kill the Wicked Witch, Fiyero remembers the tall tale that people have been spreading about Elphaba: water will melt her. Fiyero tells them that's exactly how they will do it. Then the flying monkeys start to attack. They tear Fiyero apart but he doesn't feel any pain, he just gets restuffed and they run to the Witch's castle, for Boq and the Lion, it's to save Dorothy, for Fiyero, it's to see Elphaba. When they get there, they get Dorothy out of the locked room and run into Elphaba, who is fully embracing the Wicked Witch persona for everyone. Fiyero sees right through this, he knows why she is doing this, the people will rejoice when she is "dead" and finally leave her alone. He lets Elphaba light him on fire, it doesn't hurt him but if it lasts too long he will burn completely, this ushers Dorothy to throw the water on Scarecrow and in turn, splash Elphaba. She begins to melt in agony. Fiyero can tell this is an act, the Lion feels no remorse, Dorothy feels sorry for causing harm, and Boq is mortified. For Boq, this is what he wanted for so long, to see her pay, but now that he gets it, he realizes this was never what he wanted, he just wanted to be with Glinda. They go back to the Wizard, and find that he is a normal man, Fiyero knows this and just wants to get out of there and get back to Elphaba. They are given their treasures and have learned their lessons. They say goodbye to Dorothy, and Glinda, for the first time ever, finally uses the Grimery and shows everyone and herself that she truly does have magical powers, she uses these powers for good, and sends Dorothy home.

The Lion returns to the forest, now a king, and begins to teach the animals of the forest how to speak the way he does.

Boq, now a man of Tin, goes back to Munchkin land to the spot where Nessa was crushed by a house. He apologises to her, leaving two milk flowers by the spot.

Fiyero, now a scarecrow, goes back to the castle where Elphaba "died", he looks around, making sure nobody is nearby, he goes to the room where she melted, and finds a trapdoor, he knows that is where she is, he runs and knocks on the door "It worked!" He shouts.

"Fiyero!" Elphaba exclaims. She comes out of the trapdoor and they embrace. They come to the conclusion that they cannot stay in Oz. They must leave and tell no one. They go away and live out their days happy, but always missing their friends from Oz.

For anyone who took the time to read this, thank you. This story means a lot to me

i remember when my mom played the wizard of oz when i was 8 on vhs. i saw the play at a local high school once. both the vhs and the play were so amazing...in my opinion. but 2 things i wanted to bring up now this resurfaced while i was browsing other youtube vids. 1: at one point in my life i was diagnosed with autism at a very young age. my mom never told me until i was 7 that i had autism. i found out threw some add or something that was on tv at the time. the thought of autism sat in my head which at the time was very hard to process cause i thought i was normal. which roy would say at 0:01 "oh I'm a failure because i haven't got a brain" but with love and hope this song would make me cheer up every time i heard it, especially the ending when he got a brain. 2: flash forward to 5th grade, new school and new environment (like most people transitioning from elementary to middle school close to the end of the year my science teacher did a quiz with our class what the next subject would be until spring break. and when we finished she played the song "if i only had a brain" and brought out a actual cow brain still in its jar of fluid. pretty cool in my opinion. now im 25 and have more of an understanding of my self i can proudly say "the sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side" woohoo i got a brain :)

If there was remake to The Wizard of Oz, the actor who I think would do Scarecrow perfectly should be Tom Hanks

Once he got his brain, he used it to terrorize Gotham City.

I love how already there's comments here about Fiyero, so I expect there will be a lot more after Wicked For Good when the rest of the Wicked fandom finds out.

I used to rap this song from the original Wizard of Oz - If I Only Had A Brain - in primary school. I remember one day I rapped it in the cloakroom in the CTB school for my friend, Audrey Hanley and she loved it. She’d say to me: “Do it again, Tam.” Only a handful of very close friends get to call me Tam and she’s one of them. I can’t remember what age I was exactly, but it was long before rap went mainstream. I love Oz: The Great and The Powerful, more than the original. It’s perfection. I found it hard to sing lullabies to my son when he was small. I looked for music about motherhood. I found a couple of good songs: Sleepsong Secret Garden and Celine Dion’s Miracle. But I did do a Nirvana version of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star for my song. It was fun and the most I could muster in terms of traditional lullabies - Tamara P. O’Connell
