Terrence Howard made BRILLIANT point on Joe Rogan

Listen to Terrence Howard describe what Eugene Wigner called “the unreasonable effectiveness of mathematics in the physical sciences”. This is an important warning to not confuse the representations of reality with reality itself. While I don’t agree with everything Terrance says in all cases, this is a brilliant point that should be paid attention to

He's on to something with that. He was also correct when he said nothing in the universe is ever at rest

If he only knew his iphone works because imaginary numbers exist

I don’t think it is helpful to uplift tiny fractions of his message like this when you know that it’s largely incoherent.

I'm surprised that a physicist like Brian Keating is validating Terrence Howard just so he can get some views on his channel. He knows Terence is just spouting BS but he needs that YouTube money and his Terrence's drones

I barely have a highschool diploma and I am way smarter than this dude!!!

Well isn't this just a testament to the advancement of math and physics? we're past the point of physicality and are now representing abstract and hard to understand concepts.

Terrence Howard is that dangerous guy in the pen who gets the whole yard believing some nonsense because he uses big words and amorphous concepts.
While simultaneously contradicting himself.

I believe there are some truths behind Terrence's thought process. To be fair, he is doing what every other person on this earth is. Trying to figure it out and all he wants to do is be heard and taken seriously. I don't fault him for that. Science and math needs to be more open-minded.

Most of his shit is just theories or trust me bro. You telling me some of the most intelligent people in the world didn’t think about shit like this? He’s just getting attention for stupidity

I appreciate not public shaming and jumping on a guy. But come on, there is a limit. The guy has some serious ego issues he needs to deal with. It is fine to want to have some discussions with say Eric Weinstein about some ideas you have, but to make grandious statements like 'I have fixed math', is ridiculous and dangerous. It feeds his psychosis and can be dangerous. He seriously needs help to look at this. And trying to be 'fair' and 'considerate' to someone is one thing, but when does it become enabling, just like with someone with substance abuse and not wanting to be that 'guy' who spoils the party. But when your friend is in serious trouble, the right thing is not to enable, but to talk to him seriously about getting help...

1×1 = 2 technically depends on your perspective. If both ones are different, yes. if both ones are the same, you can’t times yourself therefore you have one. I don’t think that’s technically controversial. I don’t see what the big deal.

Not true in all cases. Newtonian physics and architecture and positional geometry work well with 3d coordinate systems, even if the underlying reality is more complex. A model is good if it is useful, and the more accurate a model is, the more complex it becomes, and that makes it more difficult to use. Your model should be only as complex as it needs to be to solve the problem to the desired accuracy.

Like John Bell’s measurement problem in physics, measurement as not fundamental physical things. Like how can an electron react to the assignment of numbers to space-time points?

So if you're making things up you can make things up but science and mathematics aren't made up
