Big stars might get all the attention, but they're not the reason a team succeeds. Organizational psychologist (and host of TED's podcast WorkLife) Adam Grant explains how the real stars -- on the court or at the office -- have one surprising trait in common.

The art of living both "humility and narcissisim" is beautiful, great talk!

The nice thing about teamwork is that you always have others on your side.

2:12 lmao what type of graph is that? effectiveness on a scale on 1-5? based on what? and who decides who is humble?

Toronto fans extra confused after this one. Perfect Ted Team, two all stars and a bunch of solid role players.

I love how the chart at 2:04 doesn't actually mean anything. "Narcissistic leaders are 4 effective, but humble leaders are 4.5 effective! Wow!"

What about the warriors? They have 4 all stars and are doing great

The best TED talkers are the ones that have the longest speeches and keep their audience engaged for all of it

it's a little story but so nice and smart. Little down to earth stories make teded talks better :D

Battiier was here as a Grizz for a while, and he was my personal fave. Very smart, very sound, probably one of the best players all around. solid, dependable, serious, humble. if the superstars were more like him, they'd be better players. Batman Forever!

After I've learned about narcissistic personality disorder, victims of narcissists, narcissistic parents, narcissistic bosses, etc. I don't agree with this whole concept of humble narcissim. The reason for this is that I've watched videos about "healthy narcissism" and I agree with the criticism that the concept is flawed.

“Shane Battier is a good role player that won 2 championships with the heat and he was humble so all humble role players can give you multiple championships”
