What I possibly like most about this, is that when she's gone and he darts back in, back against the wall all flustered, he _doesn't_ land in the little spotlight that seems almost designed for him to have this moment in, but right besided it, in almost complete darkness. Nothing is quite normal.

I just realized that Sandler doesn’t wear that much Hollywood makeup in this film. You can see a lot more stubble . (Bear in mind this came out when he was still clean shaven in most of his appearances) . But I think it works very well for his character.

This type of authenticity (along with the more natural lighting and tracking shots) is amazing juxtaposed with the music & color pallete (which pay homage to old Hollywood technicolor romance films of the 1950s) that give the film this unique hazy aura that I love so much ❤

Whenever I pass by areas of town with these dense buildings I always imagine every structure is just filled with the kind of crap Barry sells, and that there are men just like him at a desk inside.

And also, she just walks off. No taxi or friend waiting. I guess there's a bus stop nearby?

Wearing the suit and holding that coffee to drink (whether for real or fake) really is a cover up for Barry’s anxiety, trying to think he can compensate to look confident wearing it as often perceived by many business people in those corporate settings. Often when people overdress for their particular situations, they are putting on a clear facade like that. For Barry this could be a big boss facade.
