After some feedback from the viewers, I have realized that the Viewsonic that is in the video is the XG270Q not the XG270QG. I was sent the wrong monitor from my actual purchase and did not check the model once I received the monitor. Unfortunately, stuff happens sometimes.

So if you hear me say Viewsonic XG270QG, just know that the actual monitor in the video is the Viewsonic XG270Q.

Man you just saved me! I was about to throw my monitor across the room! I didn’t realize you had to turn off the allow 4K setting. Thank you so much your sub count just went +1

Thanks man. You helped me out a lot. Turns out when you go to video fidelity and overscan, you have to go to display and change it from HDMI to auto detect

I just FOUND THE FIX for my Series X. I had it running 1440p at 120hz before so I knew it was possible but after an update I wasn’t able to achieve it anymore… until I went into my LG monitor settings and if you go to “Input” and then go to “Aspect Ratio” you might see that it’s set to: Full Wide, if so then that’s your problem! I switched the aspect ratio to “Original” and went back to the settings in my XBOX and was able to set the resolution to 1440p at 120hz. Hope this helps some of you with this issue!

NOTE: I had to turn off “Adaptive Sync” in my monitor settings. When this was turned on the Xbox wouldn’t let me select 120hz @ 1440p.

You have a lot of good info in your videos but the main problem your viewers are having is that they need to make sure all the features their monitor supports are supported through HDMI. A lot of monitors say they’re capable of 1440p120/144 but if you dig some more, they can only achieve that through DisplayPort. Next video about this sort of topic, make a point to touch up on this. For those that are using monitors with these features that are capable through HDMI, idk how to help other than flipping through every setting until something gives you an option you didn’t have before, then take it and add everything else back in. That’s what I had to do on my BenQ EX2780Q. 1440p120, VRR, can accept a 4K signal for a glimpse of 4KHDR, ALLM, basically everything except 4K120.

The Series X just refuses to do 1440/120 on some monitors no matter what you do, for whatever reason. I have a Viewsonic VX2758-2kp-mhd. It's a 1440p/144hz monitor. My PC can pull that no problem. Hook up the Series X with the exact same cable and port, and it's capped at 1080p on 120fps. You can change it to 1440p, but it drops the HZ to 60fps. Makes 0 sense. It's mostly a Microsoft issue and needs to be resolved ASAP.

Brooo this helped so much I really appreciate it. I’m not sure why but for me it was the “allow 4K” setting preventing me from turning on 120hz with 1440p

Can you give us a list of monitors that support 1440 at 120 fps for xbox series x/s
Because it's seems not all the 2k monitors compatible with the xbox ...
