Wow!!! Cool. I hate it when they use "barely able too see" as a form of calibration.

Just done it there with my OLED... It worked great. The key is finding out your TV's HDR max nits. Thanks 👍

Thanks so much! The calibration on my Xbox was broken (couldn't see the blocks at all) but pressing the four shoulder buttons reset / fixed it!

I wish they would list under game details if it supports HGIG or Dolby vision.

This does make it easier to setup. After setting this up and then playing Sniper elite 5 I had to bump the in-game brightness to 70 with hgig, LG C1. I think it was just a little dark.

Strange thing is I think my tvs peak brightness is 600 but the grey squares won't blend in with the Whites ones until avoid 2000? I have a cheap TCL 55CF630K

Late to the party on this. Set min to 0, both max to 1000 which is peak for my tv. Squares still very visible on p2 and 3. Is hdr broken on this machine?

I have the lg uq7070zud led 4k hdr tv... at first i hated it. Adjustments all the time back and forth. What i figured out was this. So i changed the maxtmls just one click over where you couldn't see the checker pattern, which for me was only 450 tml with 0 black tml. Then i realized that for hdr the color bit it can't be any lower than 10 bit. So i changed it from 8 bit to 10 bit in video and fidelity on the series x. Set the color tone to warm 50 or normal 0. Then enabled the motion eye care for bright and dark scenes in game optimizer. And omg what a beautiful picture for a led tv. I did so much digging and it paid off. HDR HAS TO HAVE ATLEAST 10 BIT COLOR DEPTH DONT FORGET THAT. CHEERS!!

the second and third windows are needed to compensate for the drop in brightness in the full screen fill, such a problem exists on cheap or old TVs. The first value shows the minimum visible shadows, you can’t set 0, set the smallest visible one. And in windows 2.3 until the squares disappear. hdmi cec must be disabled! And also tone compensation is also disabled for calibration.

Amazing, I had no idea about the shoulder buttons menu.

So for proper calibration of hdr gaming the maxTML and maxFFTML values be the same and MinTML should be 0? Does this apply to samsung full array qleds too? And should sharpness be 0 or min at 50% of total sharpness

When I do it on s95b the image on the left looks washed out while the image on the ride looks contrasty but a bit blown out

Hey bro I have the LG UT7570 and I have HDMI Input set to PC and HGIG is enabled. In the Xbox HDR Calibration the maximum luminance for step 2 and step 3 the grey squares are nowhere to be found. Am I doing something wrong??

This channel has become a favourite. I’m still learning going from pc player to family life. So now I game primarily on console with just got the lg c3.. Anyways one question when u calibrate the Xbox series x hdr I’ve heard I should put it on 800nits. But if I would use DTM should I change it to higher?

Hello from Germany. this setting is to be made 1-0 2-800 3-800 HGIG must be selected on the TV? on the tone mapping the boards at 800 are visible all the time (model c1 77)

I have an S95B and when I follow these settings the checkerboard is still very visible when I set MaxTML and MaxFFMTL to 1000. MaxTML clears checkerboard around 1650 and MaxFFMTL clears it around 6900... so I'm not sure what's more accurate? My TVs 10% Peak brightness window is 1025. I have HGIG enabled so I'm assuming that affects the checkerboard so is it technically still more accurate using 1000 or calibrating it to the points where the checkerboard dissappears?

On my Samsung QN90B 50inch the value where checkboards dissappear is 1150. So I use 0, 1150, 1150 and looks good. Thank you for this helpful VID!

I dont have any calibration tool
So for an oled the minimun total luminance is "o" it means "0" luminance. Maybe it's something grong ¿and for a mini led? I have a hisense U8K. I dont have any reference for a minimum luminance. Also knowing that every panel is different. I only use the rtings reference 10% window peak and for full i use the full sustained. The 10% and the full sustained peak brightness are also diferent. I can only think. Oleds have image retaining issues (burn in). And the Abl way more agressive. Maybe we have to take it more seriously.
