I have been using the old school retainer fir 31 years it works perfectly 2022 it is still very strong Fantastic ! 3 times a weeks so….. I recommend ✅

I have had both. The clear and the "old school" retainer. I could not wear the clear retainer to save my life. It made me gag and eventually I stopped wearning it... I'm currently 2 weeks after getting braces off again and using the "old school" and yes is pretty annoying, but i'll say..i'm definitely getting used to it. I think at the end of the day, it depends on the person. Thank you for this video doctor!

I’ve used the clear retainer for a year now and I wanna switch to the old school one because the clear retainer breaks easily and it’s honestly super disgusting in the morning and also super disgusting to take it out infront of ppl... and super hard to clean... yeah I would choose the old school one bc as much as I hate the metal showing... it lasts longer and doesn’t break as easy.

My orthodontist gave me a clear plastic retainer AND a fixed retainer on my bottom teeth. 5 years wearing it and it hasn't bothered me yet. Even my plastic retainers lasted 5 years until I lost them a month ago, but they never broke.

I have Invisalign and I’m clenching at night when sleeping and so I will def choose the metal Hawley retainers! I had braces as a kid and am used to the hawley retainers

I have the old school retainer and i think its great. Once you get used to it it doesnt really bother you.

After three years of braces, i got gingivitis and a day off of no teeth hassle then my dentist gives me another hardship called metal retainers and i feel like i have dentures. I love it.
