"Cutting deGrasse is morally the same", this pun was definitely intended.

“When smart people say stupid things” should be a new series for you

I think Neil’s problem is that he’s smart in his specific field of science but comes off as really dumb taking about any other complex field. This is especially the case for moral philosophy or philosophy in general as he even said: “why are you asking these questions?”

It never fails to amaze me how educated people will make *the same arguments* against veganism as children in vegan comment sections.

Neil doesn’t get it... but he thinks he does.

Ah damn, I was a big Neil Degrasse fan. I can't believe someone that smart would miss some obvious points. Just goes to show people's bias towards meat can even blind the smartest of people

It's really sad to see bright heads apply cognitive dissonance to justify their bad habits :(

Tyson is the perfect example of why being good in one field of study does not automatically make you a general "smart person".

Ed, I’m so glad that you’re so patiently willing to explain something so ridiculously obvious over and over with poise and elegance!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

When I was younger I used to look up to guys like Neil.
Now I see that age, money, fame and even smart brains doesn't mean shit. These people supposed to lead with logic and compassion. This isn't wisdom speaking. This is ego speaking.

Gosj, even Neil sounds like a Dino at this point.

Pigs are the most intelligent domesticated animals on the planet They are smarter than cats and outperform 3-year-old children on cognition tests. Clearly it’s not “big brains” that gets to decide if an animals life is worthy or not. It’s cognitive dissonance.

Fair play to you Ed for dealing with this guy. Plato and Socrates would be turning in their grave to deal with this reasoning of this 'astrophysicist'. Incredible...

I've listened to Neil DeGrasse Tyson and yes, he has a lot of knowledge about the universe, but it doesn't seem like his critical thinking skills are that strong.

Idk why people take what he says so seriously. Like he’s a leader in a certain field, that doesn’t make him an authority in anything else.

I really hope Neil has seen this. I actually respected him until I saw this. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤡

This is the fanciest "plants feel pain" I've ever heard.

The whole “plants feel too so vegans are hypocrites” has to be one of the stupidest arguments I’ve ever heard 🤦🏼‍♀️ very well done Ed 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I don't chop down a tree to get to the apple, just like I don't rip up the cucumber plant when I can just take the cucumber. The actual plant doesn't die for me to get to the veg/fruit.
Also we can compost the parts we don't eat to give back to the earth.

And Ed didn't even mention how plants evolved to produce fruit for other animals to consume so that their seeds could be spread and fertilized more easily…
Plants encase their seeds in fruits and vegetables *for them to be eaten* lol

Neil also dismissed a plant-based diet as a means of combating climate change, and instead proposed a giant vacuum to suck up carbon emissions....c'mon Neil. I've lost a lot of respect for him
