“Shit, Cobb!” - Band of Brothers (2001) #shorts #bandofbrothers #movie #scene

“Band of Brothers” is adapted from Stephen E. Ambrose’s book of the same name and is co-produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. The series faithfully recreates the experiences of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II, from the Normandy landings to the occupation of Germany after the war. Through intense battle scenes and deeply nuanced character portrayals, “Band of Brothers” not only showcases the courage and sacrifices of the soldiers but also reveals the profound impact of war on their lives. Each episode takes the audience deep into the battlefield, highlighting the camaraderie and life-and-death struggles of the soldiers. This is an epic war drama not to be missed.

Private Roy Cobb, seemingly irritated about replacements receiving the battalion unit citation for Easy's efforts Normandy, which the replacement troops didn't participate in, grills Miller about wearing the citation ribbon. Dejected, Miller leaves the table and his citation ribbon behind. Picking up the ribbon, Randleman reminds Cobb that he never fought in Normandy either (Cobb was wounded inside the plane and never was able to jump), much to the latter's humiliation.

Very telling he didn’t hear anything from the men who did fight in Normandy.

I would not be comfortable wearing a unit citation ribbon for a campaign that i didnt participate in.

Wasn’t there, don’t wear it. Simple. Standing with your brothers with integrity, is greater than any battle ribbon. There is always another ribbon to get.

Cobb had actually already seen combat in North Africa earlier in the war
