How to Move Downloads Folder from SSD to HDD Automatically

In this video I will show you how to easily move your downloads folder from your SSD and over to your HDD, so you do not use up the valuable SSD space on downloads. This principle works on a variety of things such as Documents, Pictures, Videos and so on.

IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE STEPS, READ THIS!!!!
"This video really helped me, and I was able to learn and execute the move using it. It was the best I found. I really thank the maker of it. However, I found it slightly misleading. Yet it is still very helpful if you understand the miscues:

1. The video maker has already done this process, so the screen shots are not as you will see when you attempt to do it. For instance, and this is the most misleading case, there is a screen shot of the instruction to right click on the original folder you want to move and then select Properties → Location. This screen shot shows an address of D:/Downloads. Yours, before you have moved the folder, will more likely read as follows: C:/Users/YourName/Downloads. He mentions this, but it still confused me. With the screen shot being what it is, it appears as though you are meant to CHANGE the address to the new one in that step, but you are not to do so. Leave it as is, as it indicates where the ORIGINAL folder is stored, and this will direct the computer to use that location as the one FROM WHICH your folder is to be moved.

2. The final instruction is intended to start the “Move” process. However, at this point, you are not to do the intuitive thing, which would be to click “Move” again. If you do, you will be sent back to the process by which you select the target folder, meaning the one you want to move your folder to. If you watch closely, at this point the video maker hits “Apply” and then “OK.” He does not mention these two steps; he only shows them very briefly, so quickly that I missed it. These two additional steps will be obvious to some, but they weren’t to me, so I kept hitting “Move, ” which kept putting me back a step. I finally figured out you need to click “Apply” and then “OK” for the move to get started.

3. In the last step, you will get a window asking you if you wish to move ALL your files to the new location, and recommending that you do so. I clicked “Yes” on that. You may make a different choice. But this window may be confusing to people who, based on this video, do not expect it, as it is not mentioned.

Instruction sites and videos like this are great for amateurs like me, but only if they outline perfectly and clearly the course to take; otherwise, you can get yourself into a mess from which you won’t know how to extricate yourself, as we see in at least one other post here."

Thank you for this clear and concise solution to the exact same SSD and HDD set-up as I have on my Windows 10 Lenovo. I called Lenovo's Technical representative who could not give me an answer to this question and said that the only way was to create new folders in the D drive to store my files in, and ignore the files in the C drive. I asked if they could be merged or moved and the answer was no! I appreciate very much the time you took to share this info!
