There's probably a decent overlap between "has an Analogue Pocket they don't use" and "have too much money", so I imagine there's a decent market for this mod.

It's actually good that they used a different screw head type because it means people won't confuse the original screws for the machine screws you need to use with this aluminum shell.

13:25 thats something i wish was on the actual Pocket. Im always scared im gonna drop the stupid thing but a slot to put a wrist strap in would be nice

Different screw types is going to be inherent in switching from plastic screws to machine screws you'll need for the metal enclosure. Granted it may be feasible to keep the driver types the same depending on head size and what not. Really the Torx screw is an upgrade.

Also with the adhesive, if you're really desperate for some solid adhesive buy yourself some 3M 467MP. It's called Adhesive Transfer Tape, basically a VHB tape (heavy duty) version of double sided sticky tape without the Cellulose backing, so it's just the adhesive.

I’ve seen Russ from Retro Game Corps throw some small squares of packing tape underneath his d-pad & rattling buttons, seemed to do well in reducing movement and noise.

huh... Linus just had the EXACT opposite complaint in a similar situation. He was mad that a the GBC FPGA kit used the SAME tri-wing screws that the gameboy uses and said the kit should "JUST USE phillips"
I would say, if the kit changes from torx to philips OR changes from Tri-wing to Philips that makes the mod MORE tinker friendly.
That being said, Torx or Tri-wing is probably a better screw to use if you DON'T want the device taken apart.

Anytime you have metal buttons on a metal shell, get yourself some foam tape. 1mm thick or less should do it. I made a Gameboy Advance SP Unhinged and goddamn did it rattle. I rummaged through my parts bin and found some foam tape bits that come with DS lite replacement shells. I cut that up into little squares and various shapes and placed them all strategically. 4 tiny squares on the D-pad where it contacts the interior of the shell, 2 tiny bits on the sides of each face button and various bits in certain places on the interior of the shoulder buttons to stop those from hitting the shell. Checked for clearance issues before I put it all back together and boom - no more stupid rattle.
