When the Analogue Pocket was announced I actually got excited about retro gaming again and got back into the hobby. My hope was to collect a bunch of my favorite old game boy cartridges and then purchase the device when the time came. To my disappointment, the scarcity of these devices and absolute scam on pricing with shipping and handling turned me off to Analogue. So I'm content with my Gameboy Color and Anbernic devices now. My disdain for this company on grows as keep pushing out FOMO overpriced devices.

Smaller bezels with an OLED screen would make this perfect. Oh and fixing the DPad.

This thing is cool but I really think the product design is what's being sold here. The base Analogue Pocket is more expensive than a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, and the metal one is more expensive than an Odin 2. I think it's really cool that they have physical adapters for cartridges, but this is WAY too limited in capabilities for me to want to consider it when cheaper options like the RP4P, RG556, and Odin can handle actual console emulation.

The Analogue Pocket is cool but it's definitely aimed at a hyper specific niche audience that want something like this, can afford something like this, and don't mind that it's significantly more limited than other options.

It’s fine for the regular non-aluminum additions but just for aluminum not to mention to make it heavier $500 you’re crazy. now, if they made a different model similar to the GBA horizontal frame, where it feels better to play on, I would’ve considered it. I do mods on my switches aluminum joycons, and buttons feel amazing but not a $600 addition for aesthetics. they should just honestly sell it half the price as a DYI kit if anything and that’s reaching.

Do I want to support Analogue? No!
Do I love my Analogue Pocket? Heck yes!

I personally think the Analogue Pocket is worth $200. Which is what I paid for it before they increased the price.
I don’t think their “normal” limited edition variants should cost more.
These metal variants have no reason costing as much as a PS5!

My bigger complaint is the cost of shipping. Thats by far the biggest ripoff this company does.

I owned one of those sleek silver PS2 Slims, and it truly stood out as one of the most beautiful gadgets I’ve ever had. However, the micro scratches were maddening, and it deteriorated rapidly. Plus, being metal, it tended to heat up significantly compared to the original bulky plastic model. Overall, I now lean toward practicality over aesthetics and prefer plastic.

I have to admit. The Analogue Pocket is a very beautiful, sleek and futuristic looking GameBoy device. The Analogue Pocket is a top quality, premium handheld. Though, I think my Wood Grain Edition ANBERNIC RG351V looks sleek and beautiful as well. Moreover, not going to knock the ones who spent top dollars for the Analogue Pockets. If you can afford it and if it's your thing, I'd say go for it! Enjoy life to the fullest.

*I would recommend the Analogue Pocket even though it's 500 bucks to the ones who admire it's overall concept, those who would cherish and take extra care of it and for those who want a top quality Game Boy Style premium handheld. Especially, if you work and have a job. You can maybe put in some overtime, pay for one using Klarna payments or use a zero interest credit card. If you do get one, make extra sure you get the color you want the first time!

This is a stunner! I am perfectly fine with my standard black Analogue Pocket. I was fortunate to get a black one which was the one I wanted. Actually this release makes the clear Analogue Pocket display case make more sense. I have a clear case but it fails as an actually travel case to protect your system. Could Analogue have been thinking about the aluminum version since the start because they released the clear case right at launch.

I as well bought the Noir sku, and I dont want to even touch it. It will sit on my shelf and will be a reminder on how not to spend money. It is tho the most beautiful handheld ever crafted in my opinion

Overpriced, shitty company that reeked of anti consumer practices and severely limited. It's also not that ergonomic and comfortable. You'd think at that price it could've at least emulate PsP but noooope.

It's main feature is just a fancy gimmick now in my eyes.

I want to like these but I just can’t support a company that treats their customers so badly. They honestly don’t deserve mine or anyone else business. Also metal is the last thing I want my handheld to be made out off. You want somthing your going to hold for long period of time to be light.

( Funny playing ) has a cheaper alternative that you can easily construct yourself, customize yourself and it’s more accurate to the original gameboy and can play cartridges.

I agree with you they should have at least a thin rubber back on the cartridge slot so it wont get scratched up
