Fedora 36 KDE: The Top New Features Are Here!

Fedora 36 Beta is about to hit us like a storm. One of the top new features - KDE Plasma 5.24 which brings with it, a ton of improvements, including but not limited to accent colors, widget improvements, folder colors respecting your accent colors and tons more. Watch the video to find out!

I would like KDE to fix their instead of "Kmail"...it would better "Mail by KDE" or "Mail - KDE"

Kwrite is quite simple compared to Kate, but Kwrite also has the kwrited daemon that runs in the background and handles system messages. So, even if you only used Kate, you would still want Kwrite and its daemon installed and running. 🙂

One annoyance with KDE 5.24.4 (Fedora 36 Beta). is the Dolphin. When I display output in a single column, I would like to see the item creation date on the right (like Gnome Files program). I only discovered that I could show that information, glued beneath the item name.
I am sure there may be a method to have the date appear to the extreme right, but I am not a KDE expert to know how to cause the date to appear at the right margin, with the object listed at the left margin.

Not only that, but I ran into keyboard locks with Wayland. Lockups occurred, when I tried to shuffle the icons on the bottom left panel. I have defaulted my system to using x11.

Don't install KDE spin.

I hate Gnome and love KDE in general. But, for Fedora it's exception. That doesn't mean I'm in love with gnome de, but it's stable and quite customisable.

In one machine I'm using fedora workstation 36 (amd + nvidia) & in another I'm using Kubuntu (Intel).

And, I'm gonna be very honest kubuntu in that machine is op 📛 and stable af. Using that for like a year.

Will give update about fedora machine in a month.

Because of discover crushing in x11, and you have no fedora GUI alternative, I switched to opensuse, and wow ... I left fedora forever

Cinnamon desktop is way to go
