5x15 is delighted to announce a special event in June with beloved chef, writer and broadcaster Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Hugh will be speaking with cross-bench peer and 5x15 co-founder Rosie Boycott about food, health, and his new book How to Eat 30 Plants a Week.

Leading nutritionists have confirmed that when it comes to eating plants, diversity is the key, and 30 is the magic number. As we add more plants to our diet, measurable health benefits accrue, thanks to their amazing micronutrients and differing fibres, and once we get to 30 per week the effects start to plateau. So hitting the magic 30 week after week will do wonders for your gut microbiome and in turn help reduce the risk of common diseases, from obesity and diabetes to heart disease, dementia, depression, auto-immune diseases and allergies. 30 plants may sound a lot, but in Hugh’s expert hands it feels like an easy win. How to Eat 30 Plants a Week is bursting with recipes that are dependably delicious, packed with plants and great for your overall health.

Really enjoy listening to Hugh!!!! I’ve got a number of his books and I have to say this latest one is outstanding! I’ve cooked quite a number of recipes, the nut butter is the best I’ve ever tasted! Use this latter in a number of ways but my super favourite use is in a juicy date with a piece of 100% cacao chocolate. The combination is delicious. Thank you Hugh!! :)

Inspirational! In my day "healthy" food was diet drinks and slimming yoghurts full of chemicals - to keep your weight down. So grateful to learn about this way of eating. We had the beet, pear and carrot salad thanks to Hugh's suggestion. Also upping our plant game. Toasted seeds and nuts with most meals. Thanks for this.

My nutritionist says that's what I need in diet. I can eat anything but more plants.

I thought it was 30 plants a day! That's a bit of a challenge unless you graze.

I think it's really not that hard to have 30 plants a week. Vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, spices and mushrooms all count. You might be surprised how fast these add up if you are into eating whole foods and limiting processed foods, sugar, salt, bad seed oils, fast foods.
