Do ovaries produce eggs every month?

They don't produce the eggs but instead release what was already produced right and stroed beforehand birth right?

Im 40 and this month I missed my periods, when got checked through a scan doc said I don't have any eggs. So does this mean, my eggs that were stored are over ? I was planning a 2nd pregnancy, is it possible?
