I live in south Louisiana. I feel so bad for them. It looks like the MS gulf coast after Katrina. People always talk about New Orleans when it comes to Katrina but Katrina actually wiped out the MS gulf coast. All that was left was the foundation of rows of houses along the water in Bay St. Louis. It's going to be a long road back for them.

Open your windows about 1/2 inch. allow the wind to travel throw your home. it will create a small enough vacuum forcing your roof to remain in place. More homes are lost from high wind storms then any other storms

Every meteorologist said that Hurricane Michael (2018) was a Cat 4 storm, but later upgraded the storm to Cat 5 months later. I would not be surprised if the same is done with Hurricane Ian.

I use to have to evacuate from Satellite Beach to Atlanta every time there was a hurricane when I was younger. When I moved away and decided to see my old house a decade later, it was gone. So glad I don't live in Flordia anymore. Its a nice state but there is always a chance you will lose everything.
