Power outages, storm surges expected in Florida once Hurricane Ian makes landfall

Hurricane Ian is growing in size and strength as it leaves Cuba and takes aim for Florida's west coast. In Florida, officials are urging residents to prepare for the storm to make landfall. If you live in a low lying area in the path of Ian and plan to "ride it out", It's a good idea to write your name and an emergency contact number on your arm in premanent marker. A 15ft. storm surge is no joke, the areas of impact in addition to the possibility of the worst hitting at high tide, doesn't bode well.
