Ukraine's military says it is preparing a counter-offensive in the southern Kherson region, now occupied by Russian forces. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has vowed to take back the region. Lavrov once again drops in from an alternative reality. The only regime that needs to change here is his own.

So your neighbor walks into your living room and says he doesn't like the way you clean it, so he's going to take over cleaning it from now on, you protest but, mostly, let it go on for 8 years, then he locks your door while you're at work and says it's his house and always has been.

You'd fight too.

Person with eyes: ‘That’s a lovely blue sky.’
Lavrov: ‘It’s red.’

Lavrov doing stand up comedy again. The only regime change that is needed is in Moscow.

The Russians absolutely should push for regime change: IN RUSSIA!

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

If Lavrov is so confident the people of Ukraine will support him, he should walk through the streets of Kyiv to preach his message from the Kremlin. Let’s then see how the people will then vote…for his sake, not with a length of rope…🧐

I don't think Lavrov can ever be trusted. There will never be a regime change in Ukraine. Ukraine will remain an independent state no matter what Russia may try to do to it.

The hardest and most pointless battle is the battle against the nonsense in someone else's head.
That is why talking with or listening to, Putin or Lavrov is a waste of time.

I think what lavarov meant was give us zele sky and we leave. Yeah, anyone that believes they will keep such a bargaing is already on their side.

DW amazes me, when they end this broadcast saying "Russia is toughing its position on Ukraine". Too bad Germany would not toughen its resolve to support Ukraine and end this conflict. Pandering to Russia for cheap gas, or any gas, is not going to get Germany very far.
