I took DBT for about 3 yrs. it was the best thing for me. I was in and out of hosp for many years. Since taking DBT I haven't been in the hospital.

*4 modules - DBT*
1- mindfulness
2- distress tolerance (Accepts- activities, contributes)
3- Emotion regulation
4- Interpersonal effectiveness (teaches how to talk, converse nicely)

I was in a DBT program about five years ago or so. I "graduated" and as I like to put it, my Borderline went into remission. Lately, I've been having a difficult time, so I enrolled in a DBT program again. It has helped me immensely. Seriously people, I would look into DBT. If you stick with it, I really think you'll find healing

I think you're so sweet and lovely. And I want to say it makes me so happy that you don't demonize cluster B individuals as innate abusers beyond help. Empathy and validation go such a long way in changing a BPD individual's negative thought and behavior behavior patterns.

I did DBT with my therapist a few years ago, it helped A LOT with my PTSD.

Hard living in an area that doesn't offer DBT. Makes people, like myself, feel ultimately discouraged.

Thank you for this. My 16-year-old daughter is starting DBT next week. I plan to show this video to the rest of my family so that we can all understand what DBT is and so we can support her in her DBT journey!

Basically what happened in my last appointment ! My psychologist got burnt out, and she explained me a therapy how it worked ! Really good I found Kati's video about DBT ! Really helpful to understand where I stand and the intentions of my therapist !

I really struggle with...knowing if I'm the problem, or someone else is? Like, I can learn all these things, but when I go to practice them, it just ends up being my fault anyways? It feels like a vicious cycle of self-doubt, and I don't feel like I'll ever get better.

Like if I explain something made me feel a certain way, I get accused of "manipulating" them and trying to make them feel bad.

When she says "Distract yourself! Don't do it! Don't give in to the urges!" It makes me laugh and makes me want to actually try, but it never gets through to me when others tell it to me in a serious tone.

My brother just started this type of therapy and I was curious about what it was. Thank you for doing this video. I just wish more therapists were certified, it took 5 months to find out in the area who could see more patients.

My psychiatrist is gonna have me start DBT but I don't want to do group therapy. I don't want to be around people. I don't feel like meeting new people. I actually enjoy always being alone. I also do not want homework. I don't feel like I would have the energy to do it unless it was to binge watch Netflix after work.
