Testing out a Cat6 Ethernet cable from Amazon, I compared the speeds of Wi-Fi versus Ethernet. Surprisingly, both had similar download speeds, but Ethernet significantly lowered the ping for a more stable connection. *My Internet Speed on my plan Maxes out at 250 - 260 Mbps due to the internet plan and if you have a really good router with WI-FI 6 or 6e and can dish out over 1000 Mbps then you probably won't need to get a wired connection unless you care about the stability or are too far away from the router to get good results

just upgraded to ethernet yesterday (cat6 cable) and i noticed everything was about a million times better; not only did my download speeds really come through at about 600mbps, but it was infinitely more stable than my wifi ever was. if you can manage your cables it’s really worth it for the stability alone tbh.

bro most wireless adapters cant reach high speeds. you pay 20 bucks for a 15m cable and get all the ressources your hardware can process. to get the same performance out of a wireless chip you gotta INVEST my guys.

Wired is much, much more stable and still not hard to set up if you can manage cables well.

Depends on your router. If you have WiFi 6, get Cat 6. If you have WiFi 6e, get Cat 6e. If you have WiFi 7, get Cat 7.

Category 8 exists, but it will be SEVERELY bottlenecked by your router, even if you have WiFi 7.

The reason you want wired is because while both wired and wireless have drops in latency wired drops are much smaller and recover faster

Yes it is worth it. It would make you look like a try hard because u have Faster internet
example : in first person shooting games you shoot earlier due to the internet and the upgrade is worth it

its better it just depends on your internet maxing out at a certain speed my pc rn gets 1000Mbps on download and gets 500 on upload

I wemt from 65 ping, 30mbps. Now on Ethernet i get 300mbps and 100 upload with 2 ping

Brother, going wired can and does help with speed but the main reason people go wired is for better stability.
