I'm tired of the fights between who has the better editor. It just comes down to how you use the tools and what works best for you. I love FCP. It's the best tool for me. But for you, that might be Davinci Resolve, CapCut or Premiere Pro! Just find what works best for you, and get back to editing great stories!

Totally agree dude. I enjoy the discourse, the conversation etc but it always comes down to your own preference and what works for you. I'm a nerd so I enjoy Resolve, but it's definitely not the 'best' for every individual. The fact that there are so many good options these days is awesome. Pick what works for you. This rings true to me as an editor who has used FPCX after almost failing a subject in college because of premier crashing every time we tried to export a time-sensitive project. FCPX has made editing fun and makes you more focused on creating other than toggling through new features and numbers.

I think it's also important to remember you don't have to pick only one. I have Resolve, Final Cut, and CapCut all happily coexisting in my taskbar. These days I really only use FCP for very niche things and prefer Resolve for the majority of my work, but that's because it offers the tools I need in my niche. The best NLE is the one you like to use and gives you the tools you need for what you want to do. 🤝

I agree Dylan. Use what allows you to do your best work, the most effectively with the least barriers to your creative flow. And that is different for different types of creators.

To be completely honest. I think Final Cut is the most lackluster having used all 3. Unless you mainly do vlogs/talking head videos (I know the travel community loves Final Cut for videos).

BUT. I believe Apple will put as much effort into Final Cut Pro that they have to, IF they even still really care all that much about the software. In order to get that major update that makes it on par with every other software (without needing to spend more on plugins for FC than the actual one time purchase).

Then Apple NEEDS to know that they are falling behind. And that while simplicity is nice. Options and customization is Better. Just my opinion on it.

Yes. Nothing beats how fast I can edit in FCP. I pick and choose certain features from other tools from time to time. But FCP still provides fastest output, for me.

I think most AI tools are overrated and just a buzzword trend. Some are useful, like the auto subtitles and background removal, but generative stuff just isn’t for me so I’m glad that FCP is going a little bit more conservative with that tech.

I am SOOO agree with you! Yep, DaVici may be way better with it's amazing functions especially with their color grading. BUT! I love FCPX from the bottom of my heart and I don't want to change it. After many attempts of using DaVinci, Premier and AI functions in Canva I still love Final Cut Pro.
And by the way, I'm a video editor and I'm the only one in the team who use Final Cut, when others love DaVinci and tried even to convince me to switch to it. But no. And I so agree that no mater what features, you need to find a way where it'll be more comfortable to you personally to edit. And what a good comparison to playing the piano. Feel the same )
