For your mixing-tip: if you CTRL-S, expand audio, on the big compound clip, you can actually mix the different roles (dialog, effects, music...). For example throw the limiter on the dialogue, compressor on music and equalize the music so it doesn't affect the dialogue so much.

Dude.. I don't know why I haven't even bothered saving text presets in there. Would save me so many unnecessary clicks 😂 Always appreciate seeing more FCP content Tyler!

You explained speed ramping (both what to do & not what to do!) in under a minute. I'm just learning FCP and your vids help immensely while cutting out all the bloat that others do. Very much appreciated!

Adding timestamps because I keep coming back to your video. I haven't memorized the commands yet.
0:30 - Speed ramps
1:46 - Custom shortcuts
5:26 - Title presets
6:46 - Compound clips
7:15 - Noise removal
10:00 - Compound your multicam
12:36 - An export secret

Thanks for this, and your other, amazing videos. They've been extremely helpful.

I made a couple keyboard shortcuts for things I use often and it has seriously cut down my editing time. 1) Created a shortcut for "Automatic speed." So when I use the command it takes the clip and slows it down until it matches the framerate of the video file you are editing. So if I shot in 60fps and my project is in 24fps then it will slow it down to 40%. Really useful for B roll sequences and b roll heavy project so you don't have to drag you mouse up to the drop down menu. 2) Created a shortcut to silence the audio on a clip. Its great for if you or your videographer recorded audio into you b roll that you won't be using or if you are just cutting something to music.

This editing software is full of magic. Every time I watched a new video I learned at least a new shortcut to speed things up. Magical.

Both this video and the great comments are going to take a while to digest. One last thing, as someone who used to design typefaces it’s always hard hearing them called fonts. But that’s what the menu says thanks to Mr. Jobs.
