Old Honda Accord - Gets a Carplay/Android Auto Radio Overhaul!

I just installed a similar unit in my Accord and also had issues with no on screen display when using AC. To resolve this, ensure you plugged in the (I think) 2 wire harness between fitting kit (AC controls) and the rear of Android sterero (you mentioned this in the video). You then need to go into the car 'hidden settings' (how to get here depends on the stereo). On mine, I had to goto settings, then "Car Infotainment", then About, and click the gear icon that appears. Then enter code (8888 in my case) and goto CAN Bus Type. As mine is Accord, 7, DUAL AC, I had to choose CAN bus type 75, and then specify DUAL AC. NOTE THAT THE OPTIONS YOU CHOOSE MAY BE DIFFERENT, SO DOUBLECHECK WITH SELLER / MANUFACTURER. Clicked save, rebooted unit and now when I use AC, a window pops up on screen. Also, I now get display on screen when doors are open (when engine is running)

I bought a similar model of this recently and had it installed.
While some features I do like, such as the radio sounds better than the stock radio, did not
put new speakers and it seems I did not need to anyway, so it sounds very good with the original speakers.
I like things simple when driving, especially on a long road trip.
With that being said, there are two things I do not like and am hoping it gets better as I learn more about this new unit.

One thing I do not like is the AC and heating controls, the original Honda AC/heating controls was great and easy to see and use especially
when it is dark out. The controls on the new android unit I have do not even light up, so in order to even see the controls I need to use the
dome light above to light up the cabin in order to make any adjustments when dark out.
During the day you can see the controls, but even with that they are not that easy to know which is which.
The original was very easy to see and use and know which was which.

The other thing I am not comfortable with is the fact that this unit has soooo many features on it, while in some ways
may be good, but again, when driving long road trips on a highway, you cannot take eyes off the road to make a
bunch of adjustments or to scan through to find something on the unit.

Driving needs less distractions not more.

I'm thinking about getting one of these for my '03 Accord but I've heard there are always problems getting the heat and AC to work properly afterwards. Can you make a video that addresses the issues/fixes for these issues.

Hey. I watched this video, bought the exact same thing cuz my car is accord 2007 as well, and brought into the stereo service shop to install cuz i’m bas at this stuff. But the guy there messed up the AC and now i cannot change the temperature of the AC anymore. I can change the air flow but all the lights are not showing too and this doesn’t support the AC control, can you suggest me what to do? Thank you!

This video was helpful to us we been working on this for hours only to find out that we had to just remove that wire harness and plug in the factory green harness just like you showed us here to get our heat working . Thank you !

I have the same gap on dash after install. I don't see that gap on other models. Only EX.
