So what I’m understanding is that we need to get astronomers more IMAX cameras.

The fact that they nailed what a black hole looks like before we even knew what they looked like is insane, we just knew what they did as a theory at the time.

Scientists were unable to give a perfect picture of Black hole until the movie Interstellar came...

Ok. Good. So we've nailed black hole accretion disk physics. Now it's time to make TARS - the robot science buddy, real. Be honest: We all want one.

Props to the interstellar cameraman for going into space recording the black hole and actually went inside black hole to record the actor!

Me: interstellar was launched in 2014 but this image was up in 2019.

they spent 100 hours for 1 second of black hole moment, they weren't joking when they made this in the movie. Respect to the scientists and to the movie makers

Soooo… he basically got it right. To quote Ben Kenobi in Return of the Jedi, “what I told you is true… from a certain POINT OF VIEW.” Yes pun is absolutely intended 😉

Christopher Nolan created a star pushed it to it's chandrashekhar limit and created a Black hole all by himself, why? Because he didn't wanted to use CGI

They made a black hole before we ever got a picture of one

The people that worked on that film were brilliant. From the physicists that helped to the people that worked special effects, they all made this movie a masterpiece.

Now, before any of you go straight to the comments and say "it's just a movie CGI":

The “Interstellar” black hole was created using a new CGI rendering software that was based on theoretical equations provided by Kip Thorne and a group of researchers. Kip Thorne is a professor of theoretical physics emeritus at caltech, a noble laureate in physics, and also wrote several bestselling books about black holes as the executive producer AND the movie's science advisor. led to many ACTUAL scientific research papers being published on supermassive black holes in international journals.

When you get one of the best physicists alive for the movie, you will absolutely get it right.

This is further truth that Interstellar was made in the future 😌

Interstellar was such as a masterpiece I had to watch it several times to understand the concept of black hole and the theory of relativity.
