Interstellar is a great movie. It was the first instance of this effect being used. It is still basically an artists impression of what a black hole ‘might’ look like. It has been used many times since, such as in this example. It is prudent to note that if a black hole was actually that visible in the night sky, the earth would have already been crushed.
