Matthew McConaughey doesn’t get enough credit. He’s the first one to survive a black hole. Respect.

When I watched this for the first time, watching this scene left me absolutely stunned. It's genius creativity.

Essentially thanks to gargantua's time dilation, he ended up inside a tesseract created by humans from the future, allowing him to peer into the past. He actually ended up thousands, perhaps even millions of years into the the future.

The tesseract was created specifically so he could contact his daughter. Which means that somewhere in a forgotten reality, murphy failed, and humanity had to leave earth, and in the far future, they created the tesseract and put it into gargantua so that murphy of the past would succeed and save humanity. This is some mind bending logic right here.

I didn't expect it, but rewatching this scene made me cry. Him realizing his regret for leaving his daughter kills me.

I think the horror of falling into a black hole or space in general isn’t so much the imagery but the lack of sound. This movie knows how to raise your anxiety 😂

Respect to the camera man for going through all this just to record it for us.💪

Hats off to the filmmakers for discovering that the singularity of a black hole is actually a physical embodiment of time.

I just LOVE the detail of him "clinging" to the wall. It's impossible to comprehend the geometry of higher dimensional spaces, so he would have slid down a "ramp" in a higher dimension, and ended up in a "cup" of sorts, but to him he may as well be floating in mid air since he cannot percieve the warped structure in which he is on. It's like gravity plotted in 2d vs 3d.

there is probably no way one could be more alone than being behind the event horizon of a black hole. Kinda makes my stomach turn...

This scene is a masterpiece, it's got a kind of Eldtrich horror element to it too. It's like his own emotional torment is given a physical architecture. Everything about it - the surreal visuals, the fact that it was a real set, the way it comes full circle to the beginning the film, it's just masterful.

This is basically what sleep paralysis induced out of body experiences can sometimes be like. That vacuum of space type silence with only the sound of your breath and what I imagine it would be like to move at the speed of light.

My tip to people who have only had hellish experiences with SP is don't try to open your eyes when your getting those vibration feelings in your head. Instead let them occur and concentrate REALLY hard and visualize a place you want to be. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. And don't freak out about the breathing, its just your body on autopilot.

If you can get past the rollercoaster drop sensation you might have a cool OBE. Or at the least a very lucid dream.

That'd be one of the most terrifying things ever. The entry would be the worst, but imagine seeing that structure rush up past you. It'd be so hard to understand what is going on.

This is the sound of a man in true anguish, McConaughey nailed it.

The action, the science, the horror, the drama. This is one of the most complete scenes in movie history.

It's hard to believe there are so many people out there that still don't understand the ending of this movie. And can you really blame them?
