Nora here! Welcome to The Leca Queen channel.

I love all things indoor PLANTS. I enjoy growing my plants in SOILESS media; yep, no soil! I primarily use LECA (clay balls) to grow my plants using hydroponics (semi-hydroponics).

I show you how my beautiful plants grow in LECA and help you achieve the RESULTS that I have. I cover a TON of leca growing tips, a very comprehensive leca 101 where I hold your hand and help you navigate the world of semi-hydroponics.

I love to experiment and discover different ways of taking care of plants. There is no right or wrong way, just the way that works for you and your plants. Join me on my many plant adventures.

One of my ZZ is growing in Lechuza on and she’s doing better than the others growing in soil. I think I’ll repot the others in Lechuza pon in the spring.
Your ZZ plants are beautiful!

I want to thank you so much for your videos out of my 80 plants I only have 11 left in soil❤🎉 I followed u for 1.5 years before I took the plunge. I even told the 🇬🇧 GROWTH TECHNOLOGY ABOUT U AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET IN TOUCH I HOPE THEY DID. Just want to thank you so much, this is my first winter in leca and pon.

Wow...I thought they didn't need to be moist or the bulb would rot. I've had a B.Raven that has one stem out with the leaves. It hasn't done anything last year. It's still alive. I'm going to try this method to the plant. Wish me luck!!! Thank you, Plant Leca Highness...

I don’t use leca but I use Lechuza pon in self watering containers. My ZZ plants grow perfectly.

Hi Nora, are you going to teach us how to care for a ZZ plant in leca? Do you water from the top or just fill out the reservoir? How often do you fill up the reservoir: do you fill it up right away or leave it dry for a couple of days? What level of water do you recommend in the reservoir? How about the wicking system with leca, have you ever tried it with the ZZ? Thanks for sharing such valuable info with us. I want to switch mine to leca too ❤

Love your videos. Thank you so much for all your information
When do you change to soil, or you always leave your plants in leca.

Hello Nora! Great video, really dispel some common belief that ZZ cannot live with constant access to water.

Quick question (and this isn’t related to this video). I have abandoned potting soil in favor of semi hydro. But I started having fungus gnats and believe they bred in my moss pole. This is disheartening because previously I use BTS dunks in my water source and it worked. But now it doesn’t. Have you ever had this problem w your moss pole?

Sorry it’s not about this video but I have a Leca from soil question for my big monstera. I have plants in pon and leca however I always have put them in water first before hand.

Bertha is in a 30 cm pot from Bunnings. How can go about transferring her with less stress etc? Thank you Nora xxx. Also I do want a ZZ one day :).

Mine started rotting in leca, so I had to make cuttings, and they finally start to get roots in vulkastrat mixed with leca. :)

Where do you get those plastic planting pots at with the holes in them. Is this what your raising your ZZ's in?

I would worry about mosquito issue if I have trays of water all over my home. Last summer I was shocked and disgusted to discover mosquito larvae swimming in a jar of water that I was rooting some cuttings in.

Dear, Nora! You are true Leca Queen. You made me, real hydroponics sceptic to try go LECA with just 3 videos. I was the guy with Alocasia Saga.
I bought a Philodendron and there were 4 plants in 1 pot. And I had some very good leca left, so I decided to plant my Philodendron in different mediums. And I did. 5 days passed all doing well. But then I realised, that I don't have a fertilizer for hydroponics. And it's gonna cost me 41 times more then my regular one. I can't afford that. So I decided to use my regular one by leaf, and ask other Ukrainian collectors online about how they deal with it. It makes sense to me why this method is not so popular here. Also I'm very curious about how we can tell a good leca from bad. The next step is to experiment with zz. in leca
