This film is bananas, but it passes the Bechdel Test.

Identifying as a feminist today means facing the stereotype of the abrasive, strident, man-hating, hairy-legged bra-burner. Perhaps some charming individual will label you “Feminazi” or “Frightbat”.

Even among more moderate crowds, feminism is still seen as too radical, too uncomfortable or simply unnecessary.

The F-Word is a group of Melbourne based bra-burners setting out to explore these questions, and to have some open discussions about the way forward for women’s rights on community television.
