They not only looked older. They sounded older.

My mom is 68. My grandmother was in a hospital bed at the house with cataracts and catheter at my moms age. Saggy wrinkled skin. It's mind blowing. None of my aunts look like my grandmother did either. It's quite strange.

Probably also had to do with how ubiquitous smoking was back then. Nowadays you can barely find any public space where you can do it. It’s crazy how smoking was allowed even in airplanes until the 1980s

well the older generation fought in literal world wars and that ages people horribly and food was not the same as now

I do believe stress has a lot to do with looking young and being healthy.

I always thought Elizabeth Taylor looked like a grandma, no matter how old she was back then. I have co workers who are years younger than me and look like elderly people.

I’m 66. When my Grandma was my age, she looked it. When my Mom was 66 she looked like she was in her 50’s. I’ve been told I look like I’m in my 40’s.

If you make it to 120.Its safe to say you lived life to the fullest.

There is something called stem sells? That can be bought. I Also heard that listening to nostalgic music from when you were young regenerates your cells somehow.

And to note that not everybody back then looked older. There were people back then too that did look Young and look their age

Because people in the past couldn't wait to be grown ups. That's not much of a concern for today's generation.

People seemed to look 40 when they were 30, 60 when they were 40+, and then just stopped ageing after that. Like you look at a picture of middle aged people in the past, they already look old, but they lived another 20-40 years and looked exactly the same, if not a bit more wrinkled and grey

I think that the beauty standards of the past were far more attractive and youthful looking than those of today.

But scientific studies also shows that puberty age is decreasing, so in this way people now a days should be look more older at lower age
