We're so used to seeing people with perfect influencer faces that have been beauty-filtered, cosmetically enhanced, and facetuned to oblivion we don't even know what a 20 or 30 year old looks like nowadays. In this era of social media obsession, everyone's trying to outdo each other looks wise while also looking down on people who look their age. Are we seeing the effects of the anti aging positivity movement? Millennials vs Gen Z: Who Looks Older #edvasian

Your face is young, but the clothes are the clothes of a grandpa with 2 loving grandchildren on his lap, talking about the good ‘ol days…👴☝️

Anti-aging used to be just for people who are actually old. When kids do it, no wonder they just end up looking like old people trying to look young.

I’m 37 and I feel very lucky to be 37. I’m not ancient or falling apart, I have some smile lines and wrinkles but I’ve lived a good life so far. I smile and laugh and cry and scrunch my face and I won’t spend one more ounce of stress or 1 more minute worrying about what I’ll look like if I do. My husband is 7 years younger than me and no one looks at us funny or assumes we’re not the same age. A lot of my friends didn’t make it to 37. I have friends that were in accidents that won’t walk again. One that had a stroke that can’t move half of their face. Others who died from overdoses, a few from the war in Iraq, or accident or any number of things. I have 2 daughters and I refuse to let them see me worry so much about aging that I put myself in unnecessary harm to try and hide my age from the world.

personally i find people look younger if they often smile, maybe because being an adult drains you

Everyone smoked, everyone tanned, Those are the two things I think of.

I feel confident "the entire cast of cheers" example is flawed. the guy who played "norm" was in his 40s, not 34yo. The show ran until 1993 and the photo used was clearly from the end of the series which means he would have been around the age of 45yo, NOT 34yo.

The girl with the fillers...damn, they done her wrong. How can one get cosmetic procedures and look worse off...I'd cry for my money

My understanding as to why people are insulted or afraid to look old, is that media tends to portray aging as unattractive or ugly.

People always guess my age at anywhere from 28-34. I am actually 43. I think i look better now than I ever have. I will never dress like an PTA mom or a grandma. Style can have a lot to do with how people perceive your possible age

Gonna be honest, it’s all about your energy. I constantly get told I can’t be 29 and that I’m mistaken for early twenties, and I honestly believe it boils down to energy- I smile, I’m bouncy, I’m friendly and have a pep in my step- all of that makes it seem like I’m younger than I really am. It’s all about your energy and how you portray yourself to others. Whenever I’m sick or have a weird day, people don’t ever ask how old I am because I’m acting my age. I don’t mean act like a baby or toddler, nothing like that, but simply making it seem like you have energy and aren’t beaten down by the world goes the extra step in making people think you’re younger than you are!

The girl that was shocked they told her 45 doesn't look 45 but she does look a full decade older 😭 Like what was she expecting when she got procedures meant for people in their 30s ??

You have skin like a 20yr old, hair cut of a 5yr old and clothes of a granpa.

You are truly magical.

looking 16 when you're in your mid-30s is actually overrated. like it's nice to look youthful or whatever but you also have to deal with the frustration of no one ever taking you seriously and it's honestly not a good trade off.

I remember when I was 15 and i don't know why people told me that i looked 30(?!) and now I'm 20 and people say i look 14-17. I don't understand people

I thought the 29 year old girl looked even older with her hair down.

Love this! We need to stop asking people & talking about their age. This is from someone who is usu much older than people guess. People talk about my age a lot! Saying thank you is the easy way to deal with it but in general, I'm tired of talking about aging and associated expectations. These days, everyone is diff. We have lots of differences w/ nutrition, genetics, lifestyle, activity, $, environment, interventions, personal style, single/no kids vs family. I feel like talking about age puts people in boxes & can cause more obsessive behavior/thinking vs natural aging & whatever that looks like for the individual.

Also very important to keep in mind, besides the preventable habits like smoking, drinking, vaping, all drugs, diet, toxic environment plays a HUGE role in rapidly aging you on the outside while making you sick on the inside too!

Narcs whether at work or within your personal home life definitely have lasting effects!
