This disagreement reminds me of a fundamental difference in philosophy: some people just want to be left alone to pursue their own values; others want THEIR values imposed upon the world. I don’t care how rich someone else is, I just want to be left alone to pursue my own ambitions, and am happy for the market to decide the value of my labour. Other people seem to want to dictate to the world what ‘should’ and ‘shouldn’t’ be allowed. That seems to be a very jealous and totalitarian way to view the world. If market forces are not a good mechanism for determining the price of labour, then I don’t know what is. In case I am being unclear I agree completely with Yaron.

Valeer's speech turns around the point so much he doesn't answer the question in the end. It's so academic it's empty. Meanwhile, Yaron's goes straight to the point. He vulgarises so well even people with limited economic knowledge can understand his arguments.
I really admire his talent to make something complex into something simple.

the people flipping burgers in mcdonalds or screwing bolts in an assembly line should have zero say in how a company is run or who gets what pay. if they had the intelligence to make such decisions then they would not be flipping burgers in the first place. why would these people think that they can have a reasonable stance on the running of a company is beyond insane. go run your own company if you think you can
