iPhone 13 Pro vs. DSLR #shorts

How does the new iPhone 13 Pro stack up to a proper camera? I tested out all three lenses on the new iPhone -- the ultra-wide 0.5x, regular wide 1x, and the new telephoto 3x lenses.

The fact people are even running tests with an iPhone against 10k cameras tells you something.

DSLR looks 10x better and that’s even with this compressed little video on a YouTube short. The ultra wide on the iPhone is the only one that looks nearly on par.

Shame YouTube kills the image resolution with Shorts. Makes it hard to properly judge, the iPhone’s brightness definitely helped in this case though.

We all know which one is better. The point is that it's gotten to a point where a tiny device in your pocket can be compared to a professional camera

No question that the 1DX wins— but the iPhone is still impressive for what it is

I think something a lot of people forget is that the dslr footage is really meant to be a data collector and then edited for final vid. The iphone is more of a point and shoot. The iphone does most of the processing needed as it shoots. Which means you have a lot less options for editing later.

Both are good, at the end it all comes down to the content you’re recording and how creative are you with the tools you have.

They should have been on the same focus angle. Then we would get a better comparison

I think you should change the angel of iPhone to proper cemetery as DSLR

Didn't bother to exposure match. The DSLR will have, at minimum, 4x the dynamic range in post. We also note that we tried to match the near infinite depth of field of the tiny f-ratios offered by the iPhone instead of shooting rational aperture ratios on the larger sensor. The DSLR blows the iPhone away in the backroom and, when set up correctly, in broad daylight, as well. Watch what happens when it gets sunny or goes dark: the larger sensor format will destroy the iPhone.

My opinion, both are good, the Iphone helps a lot when we don't have the camera.

HDR or SDR? iPhone usually records in HDR now

I think the dslr shots are way darker than the iPhone 13 shots, but way sharper and the iPhone shots are brighter but less sharp and I think you can edit the Dslr shots way better than the iPhone ones. But I’m not sure

Sam’s shorts are the first ones that get me interested in shorts. Great content nuggets

Lol fun fact ( YouTube lower ur video image down so much like 4K video to 720hd which kinda sad )

Trust me, I'm not only buying a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera for just the body, but also the wide variety of optically excellent lenses. Good luck covering that with your iPhone

The DSLR is better and its colors are more beautiful!
but regardless of price, for vloggers and content creaters phones' cameras are more than enough!
People don't care about that minor quality differences, and these small differences aren't really important as your character (as a presenter), self confidence, sense of humor, and the chosen subject you intend to talk about.

Thanks for the great comparison! 👍😉

Altho YouTubes Compression butchers the image pretty bad, there is honestly no comparison between the 1D X Mark III and the iPhone.

What about:
1. Shallow depth of field?
2. Low light/high ISO?
3. Dynamic range?
4. Etc, etc, etc.

Sure, iphone is smaller and lighter.

Sensor size is prob biggest factor in the visible difference. Thanks for sharing!
