Calif. Zephyr in Ft. Morgan on 21Sept2024 (Last full day of summer 2024)

This California Zephyr #5 made its station stop in Fort Morgan at 0605 MDT (22 min. late). The power for this 8-car train was from P42s #71 and #68. The trin did a single spot - two car passenger stop with 2 new passengers boarding car 3 (sleeper) and 1 new passenger boarding car 7 (coach class).
The private Rail car "Cimarron River" in Frisco crimson was tagging along on the rear of this Zephyr. I have no idea how far it is traveling but it is occupied.
With the passengers safely on board both cars, the high ball was given and on a clear signal, the Zephyr departed for its next stop at Union Station in Denver.
My thanks to the operating crew for the greetings this morning.

Hey Hey Mr. Mike, thanks for the #5 coverage in FMG. Looks like it was a nice morning there. Maybe it was gonna be a double-spot that was changed at the last minute? Oh well, at least they got everyone. Private railcars are really cool. We've been in the high 90's here with perhaps a little cooling next week. They say that it's gonna depend on what the jetstream does. A high pressure system keeps the tropical storm / hurricanes away, but also kicks the temps up. Low pressure does the opposite - Cooler temps, but more tropical / hurricane potential. Currently clear and 84F (1957 Hrs CDT) on the way to an overnight low of 76F. The car show is today in Fort Morgan, how many people are expected to show up? Will you go downtown and check it out?

Yeah Mike that private car really looks sharp back there. Haven't seen that one before. Sounds windy out there. Will fall is coming. It'll start cooling off quickly I'm sure. Stay safe out there.
