it was the "I am what you made me" line that made me certain it was Hayden delivering those lines through some kind of voice mod. The inflections on his words throughout the episode are just as they were when he fought obi wan in revenge of the sith. I can't wait to see the behind the scenes for this show

His "new" voice sounds so much like it does in the old movies; almost exactly like it, and with modern quality it's probably my favorite voice for him. It's fantastic

He's more machine now than man, twisted, evil and SO BADASS

Picked up on it immediately, but only because of how weathered JEJ’s voice has been in Rebels and Rogue One.

That said, I love it. The inflection, the fury, the beautiful musicality of the original performance and the OG honored accordingly.

I was happy with the way they did Vader's voice. It was very reminiscent of the way he sounded in TESB, which was by far the most menacing sounding Vader we've ever gotten in any of the movies.

I liked his voice in Kenobi more. Sounded closer to the original

This use of Respeecher allowed the legendary James Earl Jones to not only return, but to have his distinct vocals assisted to what they were back in 1977.

It’s amazing that at 91 he is still committed to the most iconic villain in cinema history, uncontested! “Legendary” doesn’t even *begin* to cover this guy!

It sounded just like the original, which is why I looked up whether or not he was still voicing Vader. Truly awesome!

It sounds great! And I’m very glad that they used this modern technology to keep Vader in line with his original iterations from the original trilogy.

I knew it was him and not him at the same time, when I watched it for the first time… if that makes sense.

I went into Episode 3 expecting Vader to sound odd. As soon as he started speaking I actually thought "Oh, it sounds fine. So they DID get James Earl Jones back again" and didn't think about it for the rest of the episode.

I'm honestly surprised to learn there's something more going on with it.

At least Vader is still an absolute boss and not letting Reva try to push against him authority

It was already confirmed to be James Earl Jones. The man is old they had to use the computer tech to make him sound more like Vader than he could do now at age 91.

This was weird when they did it for Luke, but it works really well for Vader since his voice is already robotic.

Honestly I’m happy with it either way! I’m happy James was able to be apart of this show. One day we won’t have his voice anymore.

Kinda rough to have reaffirmed that the main man is 91 these days

If anyone is wondering what background music is playing, it’s called Resonance by Home

If you look back and listen the way Darth Vader says “Obi-Wan” right during the fire sequence, that was exactly when I knew it was off. As it sounded weird and unnatural in the moment.
