Some people don't seem to understand how Vader was brought to life on screen. The man in the suit, David Prowse, was the physical presence and was a 6'6" plus powerlifter. When he picked up other actors in his scenes, that was all him. He's saying the lines in filming so the other actors have something to respond to and the scene flows properly, he's then overdubbed by the magnificent James Earl Jones to get the final result. The character needed both men's contributions to make the character work.

I'm still having a hard time grasping the fact that Mr. Jones is gone. He was a wonderful person who made up such a huge part of my childhood, even when I didn't realize it at first. There will never be another like him, and his legacy must continue on. Legends never die. May the Force be with you, Mr. Jones.

It's sort of tragic how overlooked David Prowse is as a visual actor, he did a lot of work in horror movies as the mummy and Frankenstein beforehand, and was genuinely talented. It's a shame how he never gets much credit despite playing Darth Vader flawlessly in the original trilogy.

Edit: this isn't me taking away from James Earl Jones, may he rest in peace, but I urge you look up the photo of the two of them titled 'the body meets the voice, ' both showing themselves to be class acts and having nothing but respect for each other.
